Acknowledgement of Country

Mentone Park Primary School acknowledges the Bunurong people of the Kulin Nation as the Traditional Owners of the land on which we learn and play.

We value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history and cultures’ and recognise their connection to lands, waters and communities.

We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.

Message from the Principal

Mentone Park Primary School had a fantastic week filled with community spirit and celebrations, and lots of fun!

A huge thank you to all of the families who came to support our school working bee! The energy and hard work made a big difference in keeping our school looking great. Thank you to the PFA for providing and running the BBQ- there were lots of hungry families after a huge effort of weeding, spreading mulch across the junior school playground, gardening and general tidy up! We appreciate our MPPS families giving up their Saturday morning and this continues to show the strong sense of community at Mentone Park Primary School.  Please see photos below.

We celebrated Halloween on Thursday, and our students arrived at school with lots of excitement! The school was buzzing with laughter and joy as the students enjoyed seeing each other’s costumes, including their teachers! Thank you to our families for their efforts taken for the outfits. They were amazing!

Today we had a wonderful time celebrating Grandparent’s/Special Friends’s Day, with the school buzzing with energy. We began the morning with an assembly, starting with River’s (Grade 5) Acknowledgement of Country and then a whole school dance ‘We are Family’ Performance.

It was heartwarming to see so many grandparents/special friends join us at the assembly and in the classrooms, sharing special moments and getting a glimpse of students learning. The morning tea that followed was the perfect opportunity to come together. Thank you to all the grandparents/special friends who came and made the morning so memorable. Please see photos below.

Have a lovely weekend,
